The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for a barrel came clame down by over a dollar on 23.4.2012 to US$ 115.14 per barrel (bbl). The price was US$ 116.21/bbl on previous trading day i.e. 20.04.2012.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price was as lower at Rs 6013.76 on 23.4.2012 as compared Rs 6042.92 per bbl on 20.04.2012. This was due to decrease in crude oil price in dollar terms even though rupee further depreciated with rupee-dollar exchange of Rs 52.23/US$ on 23.4.2012 against Rs 52.00/US$ on 20.04.2012.
