The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas went up to US$ 97.08/barrel (bbl) on 03.7.2012.The price was higher than US$ 94.86 /bbl on the previous trading day of 2.7.2012.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price increased to Rs 5320.95 per bbl on 03.07.2012 from Rs 5296.03 per bbl on 2.07.2012. This was due to price increase in dollar terms despite rupee appreciation with rupee-dollar exchange rate on 03.07.2012 at Rs 54.81/US$ against Rs 55.83 /US$ on 2.07.2012.
