    IL&FS Infra Asset Management Limited (IAML), an Asset Management Company (AMC) promoted by IL&FS Financial Services Limited (IFIN) to manage the IL&FS Infrastructure Debt Fund (IIDF), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with eight (8) Public Sector Banks (PSBs) including Allahabad Bank, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce and UCO Bank for acquisition of infrastructure loans.

  • Auction for Sale (Re-issue) of 7.83 per Cent Government Stock, 2018

    Government of India have announced the Sale (Re-issue/Issue) of (i)“7.83 percent Government Stock 2018” for a notified amount of Rs. 3,000 crore (nominal) through price based auction, (ii) “New 10-year Government Stock 2023” for a notified amount of Rs. 7,000 crore (nominal) through yield based auction , (iii) “8.97 percent Government Stock 2030” for a notified amount of Rs. 2,000 crore (nominal) through price based auction and (iv) “8.83 percent Government Stock 2041” for a notified amount of Rs. 3,000 crore (nominal) through price based auction.

    Exports during April, 2013 were valued at US $ 24164.37 million (Rs. 131395.43 crore) which was 1.68 per cent higher in Dollar terms (6.71 per cent higher in Rupee terms) than the level of US $ 23766.14 million (Rs. 123137.36 crore) during April, 2012.

     

  • PMO reviews CAPEX/Investment Plans of Central PSEs for 2013-14

    The Prime Minister’s Office has been monitoring the CAPEX and investment plans of selected Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) since FY 12-13. The purpose of this exercise was to enhance investment in the economy, utilizing the substantial cash surpluses that are available with some of the CPSEs to drive economic growth.

  • President Gives Away National Technology Day Awards 2013

    The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee today presented National Technological Awards at a function held here in Vigyan Bhawan to mark the National Technology Day 2013.

    The National Award for 2013 was given to M/s Biovet Private Limited, Malur, Kolar, Karnataka for successful commercial production of Bluetongue pentavalent vaccine and Johne’s disease vaccine for the first time in India. The technology was provided by Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) Izatnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

  • Quick Estimates of Index Of Industrial Production and use-Based Index for the Month of March, 2013 (Base 2004-05=100)

    The Quick Estimates of Index of Industrial Production (IIP) with base 2004-05 for the month of March 2013 have been released by the Central Statistics Office of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. IIP is compiled using data received from 16 source agencies viz.

  • More Than 234 Lakh Tonne Wheat Procured

    During ongoing Rabi Marketing Season, the Government agencies have procured more than 234 lakh tonne wheat. As per data available from the fields till 10 May, 2013, total wheat procured during the season in various states is 234, 54,846 tonnes.

    So far Punjab has led the procurement 105,90,390 tonne followed by Haryana with 57,95,213 tonne and Madhya Pradesh with 56,25,527 tonne. Rajasthan and UP also made significant procurement during the season with 9,55,765 tonne 4,75,416 tonne respectively.

This Report provides a broad perspective of the Telecom Services and presents the key parameters and growth trends for the Telecom Services as well as Cable TV, DTH & Radio Broadcasting services in India for the period covering October to December 2012, and is compiled on the basis of information furnished by the Service Providers.

  • Statement of Srikant Kumar Jena on CCEA approval of the proposal regarding revival of five closed units of FCIL

    The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Statistics & Programme Implementation, Shri Srikant Kumar Jena said that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs yesterday cleared the recommendations of Empowered Committee of Secretaries for revival of five units of Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd. (FCIL) at Sindri, Talcher, Ramagundam, Gorakhpur & Korba. He told that the Government of India loan and interest thereon amounting to Rs. 10644 crores have been waived off.   • Railway Revenue Earnings Up by 13.65 Per Cent During April 2013

    The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during April 2013 were Rs. 11009.17 crore compared to Rs. 9687.15 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 13.65 per cent.

    The total goods earnings have gone up from Rs. 6914.60 crore during April 2012 to Rs. 7637.35 crore during April 2013, showing an increase of 10.45 per cent.

  • Power Generation in April 2013

    Total Generation during the period April 2013 has been 77.58 Billion Units which was 103.08% of the actual generation during the same period last year. The generation during April 2012 as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 105.37%.

    So far as actual generation is concerned, Hydro generation has been 95.76% and Nuclear generation has been 84.80% however, Thermal generation has been 102.24%.

  • Declaration of the Year 2013 as “Water Conservation Year-2013”

    The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for declaring the year 2013 as “Water Conservation Year 2013.

    A number of mass awareness activities will be undertaken during Water Conservation Year 2013 with emphasis on sensitizing the masses on water related issues, encourage them to conserve and use it judiciously.

    The policies and programmes of the Ministry of Water Resources will be propagated to create a sustainable society and economy.
