Wheat Procurement Crosses 250 Lakh Tonnes
Wheat procurement during ongoing Rabi Marketing Season(RMS) has crossed the mark of 250 lakh tonnes. As per procurement data received in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution from the field, total procurement by the government agencies as on May 31 has reached to 250,04,369 lakh tonnes
Index of Eight Core Industries (Base: 2004-05=100), April, 2013
The summary of the Index of Eight Core Industries (base: 2004-05) is given at the Annexure.
The eight core industries have a combined weight of 37.90% in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The combined Index was 152.2 in April, 2013 with a growth rate of 2.3% compared to 5.7% growth in April, 2012. The decline in the growth rate in April, 2013 was mainly on account of negative growth witnessed in the production of Crude Oil, Natural Gas and Fertilizer.
CoalGovernment to Provide Support for Infrastructure Development for Mountaineering in NER
The Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Shri U.K. Sangma said that the Government will provide all possible support for infrastructure development for mountaineering in North Eastern Region. He said this while interacting with media and the mountaineers of the 1st North East India on top of the World (Mt. Everest) Expedition 2013 here today. Shri Sangma said that his Ministry has already sanctioned Three Crore Rupees for the expedition team.

Global crude oil price of Indian Basket rises sharply to 101.59/US$ bbl on 28.5.2013
The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas went up to US$ 101.59/per barrel (bbl) on 28.05.2013. This was higher than the price of US$ 99.37/bbl prevailing on the previous trading day of 27.05.2013.
V.Narayansami Inaugurates ISRO Navigation Centre near Bengaluru
The ISRO Navigation Centre (INC), established at Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) complex at Byalalu, about 40 km from Bangalore, was inaugurated yesterday (May 28, 2013) by Mr. V. Narayanasamy, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. INC is an important element of the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), an independent navigation satellite system being developed by India.
