Wheat procurement during ongoing Rabi Marketing Season(RMS) has crossed the mark of 250 lakh tonnes. As per procurement data received in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution from the field, total procurement by the government agencies as on May 31 has reached to 250,04,369 lakh tonnes

The eight core industries have a combined weight of 37.90% in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). The combined Index was 152.2 in April, 2013 with a growth rate of 2.3% compared to 5.7% growth in April, 2012. The decline in the growth rate in April, 2013 was mainly on account of negative growth witnessed in the production of Crude Oil, Natural Gas and Fertilizer.

The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas went up to US$ 101.59/per barrel (bbl) on 28.05.2013. This was higher than the price of US$ 99.37/bbl prevailing on the previous trading day of 27.05.2013.
The ISRO Navigation Centre (INC), established at Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) complex at Byalalu, about 40 km from Bangalore, was inaugurated yesterday (May 28, 2013) by Mr. V. The students who have studied from classes 9th to 12th and have passed the class 12th exam this year in the Government schools affiliated to CBSE and run by the State Government will be eligible.
