To commemorate the “100 years of Indian Cinema,” the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organizing a six day Centenary Film Festival to celebrate Indian Cinema in all its glory. The Festival will commence on April 25th, with the inauguration of the exhibition “Indian Cinema 100 (Celebrating a Century: An Audio Visual Voyage)” by the Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Sh. Manish Tewari.
The revamped Incredible India website www.incredibleindia.org has crossed two million hits mark today. It has started receiving almost six thousand hits every day. This major increase is the result of the Ministry of Tourism’s new policy to place a large number of services on the website in pursuit of the directions of Shri K.Chiranjeevi, Union Minister for Tourism to concentrate marketing efforts through the internet in proportion to the number of potential tourists using the internet vis-à-vis other traditional media.

Exports during March, 2013 were valued at US $ 30849.65 million (Rs. 167836.31 crore) which was 6.97 per cent higher in Dollar terms (15.65 per cent higher in Rupee terms) than the level of US $ 28839.36 million (Rs. 145123.41 crore) during March, 2012. Cumulative value of exports for the period April-March 2012 -13 was US $ 300570.58 million (Rs 1635261.02 crore) as against US $ 305963.92 million (Rs 1465959.40 crore)
1. Measures to revive investors’ interest in SEZs.
1.1 A package of measures has been formulated to revive investors’ interest in SEZs and to boost exports. The salient features of the package are:-
A task force constituted by the Ministry of Coal to work out the policy issues of coal beneficiation is likely to submit its findings shortly. This was announced by Minister of Coal , Shri Sriprakash Jaiswal. He was addressing the inaugural session of the “International Conference & Expo on Coal Beneficiation” being organised by the ‘Coal Preparation Society of India’ (CPSI) here today. The theme of the Conference was ‘Beneficiation of Indian Coal: capacity augmentation and technological up gradation for efficient use & environmental sustainability’.
The Railways have generated Rs. 84791.06 crore of revenue earnings from commodity-wise freight traffic during fiscal 2012-13 as compared to Rs. 68965.44 crore during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 22.95 per cent. Railways carried 1009.83 million tonnes of commodity-wise freight traffic during financial year 2012-13 as compared to 969.78 million tonnes carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 4.13 per cent.

“I am very pleased to inaugurate this Fourth Clean Energy Ministerial in New Delhi. This is the first time this Ministerial meeting has been convened in India. I take this opportunity to welcome all the participating Ministers and members of their delegations, and also the representatives of international organizations, the private sector and non-governmental organizations participating in this important meeting.
Dr. C.P. Joshi, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, reviewed here today the plan for award and completion of road works during the current Financial Year (FY) 2013-14. The plan has been prepared by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) along with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The thrust of the review meeting aimed at identifying steps for restoring the pace of award of road projects in the coming year. As a part of this exercise, scheme-wise targets were set for each month of the financial year.
The Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas have reviewed international prices of crude oil and petroleum products during the 1st Fortnight of April 2013. Accordingly, the under-recovery on High Speed Diesel (HSD) applicable for 2nd fortnight of April effective 15.04.2013 has declined marginally to Rs 6.42/Litre.
“Our 12th Five Year Plan proposals for the next five years (2012-17) seek a capacity addition of 30 GW, of which 25 GW is expected to come from wind and solar energy”, said Sh. R.P. Watal, Secretary MNRE while inaugurating a one day Workshop on Grid Integration of Renewable Energy & Rooftop Solar in Urban Areas in collaboration with Govt. of Germany in New Delhi today. Wind and solar are location-specific and not distributed uniformly.
