Anand Sharma to Discuss Measures to Reboot Manufacturing Sector With States, Industry Tomorrow
A meeting of State Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries (Industry) is being organized on 13th September, 2012 at Parliament House Annexe. The meeting will be inaugurated by Shri Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Textiles. It would be chaired by Dr. V. Krishnamurthy, Chairman, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council.
In the meeting the following issues are proposed to be discussed:
· Measures for regaining growth momentum in Manufacturing.Czech Republic to be the Partner Country in the India Engineering Sourcing Show 2013
Speaking at the India-Czech Joint Commission and the concurrent business seminar at Brno on September 11, 2012, Shri Anand Sharma, Union Minister for Commerce, Industry & Textiles said that India-Czech partnership can become the harbinger of a new growth story in these times of economic stress.
Civil Aviation Minister Launches First B787 Dreamliner Aircraft of Air India
Minister of Civil Aviation ShriAjit Singh launched the first Air India B787 Dreamliner Aircraft at a function at the Indira Gandhi International Airport today. 27 Boeing 787 will be delivered from 2012 to March 2016.
The first of the aircrafts had arrived in New Delhi on 8th September 2012.

Progress of Tourist Visa on Arrival Scheme in August 2012
Last month, a total number of 1750 (Visa on Arrivals) VoAs were issued under this Scheme as compared to 920 VoAs during the month of August 2011 registering a positive growth of 90.2%. During the period January-August 2012, a total number of 9412 VoAs were issued as compared to 7514 VoAs during corresponding period of 2011 registering a positive growth of 25.3%.
International Crude Oil Prices of Indian Basket Increase on 10.9.2012 to US$ 113.30/BBL
The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas increased to US$ 113.30/barrel (bbl) on 10.9.2012. The price was higher than US$ 112.49/bbl on 7.09.2012, the last trading day.
21 FDI Proposals Amounting to Rs. 2410 Crore Approved
Based on the recommendations of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) in its meeting held on August 24, 2012, Government has approved 21 proposals of Foreign Direct Investment amounting to Rs. 2410 crore approximately.

The Union Minister for Commerce, Industry & Textiles of India, Shri Anand Sharma, and Minister of Industry & Trade of the Czech Republic, Mr. M Kuba jointly inaugurated the "India Show" in Brno, Czech Republic at the MSV Fairground on the morning of September 10, 2012. Minister Anand Sharma led a high level business delegation participating in the India Show.

International Crude Oil Prices of Indian Basket Declines on 07.9.2012 to US$ 112.49/BBL
The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas went down to US$ 112.49/barrel (bbl) on 07.9.2012. The price was slightly lower than US$ 112.87/bbl on 6.09.2012, the last trading day.
NSIC Empowering Women for Self Employment
National Small Industries Corporation has launched specialised Incubation Program for Unemployed girls and Women to take up their own ventures. Speaking at the “12th Global Conference on “Trade Liberalization and its impact on Women Entrepreneurs, Dr. H. P. Kumar, CMD, NSIC stated that NSIC has set up Incubation Centres all over the country and invited young girls, aspiring Women Entrepreneurs to join the NSIC-Incubation program free of Cost.
Net Direct Tax Collections During April-August 2012-13 up by 28.15 per cent and Stood at Rs.1,23,969 Crore as against RS. 96,738 Crore in the Same Period Last Year
Gross Direct Tax collections during April-August of the F.Y. 2012-13 was up by 6.51 per cent at Rs. 1,64,413 crore as against Rs. 1,54,361 crore in the same period last year. While gross collection of Corporate Taxes showed an increase of 0.15 per cent and stood at Rs.96,738 crore during the same period as against Rs. 96,597 crore last year. Gross collection of Personal Income tax was up by 17.09 per cent at Rs.67,420 crore as against Rs. 57.582 crore in the same period last year. Net Direct Tax Collections was up by 28.15 per cent and stood at Rs.
First Meeting of India-Saudi Arabia Joint Committee on Defence Co-Operation
The first meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Joint Committee on Defence Cooperation was held here today. The 11-member Saudi delegation was headed by Maj Gen Suleiman Saleh Al-Khalifa, Chief of the Armed Forces Operations of Saudi Arabia. The Indian delegation was headed by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence.
