  • Rice Sown in 356.07 Lakh Hectare so Far

    According to the latest information received from States, rice has been sown in 356.07 lakh hectare, as compared to 347.10 lakh ha, a week back. Normal area under rice for this week is 344.69 lakh ha.

     

    The cropped areas of major kharif crops as on today as compared to those last week and the normal area for this week are as follows:

     

  • Development of Mining Sector

    The Government has enunciated National Mineral Policy, 2008, which lays down policy decision for measures to streamline and simplify the procedures for grant of mineral concessions, develop a sustainable framework for optimum utilization of the country`s natural mineral resources for the industrial growth in the country and at the same time improving the life of people living in the mining areas which are generally located in the backward and tribal regions of the country.

  • Joint Venture in Mining

    The Ministry of Mines at present has no proposal to set up a joint venture with Russian companies to undertake mineral exploration and mining activities in the country or abroad.

    This information was given by the Minister of State for Mines (Independent Charge) Shri Dinsha Patel in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.

  • ONGC Considering to set up Urea Manufacturing unit in Tripura

    The Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri R.P.N. Singh has said, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, that the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is considering setting up a urea manufacturing unit in the state of Tripura for early monetization of the new gas discovery from Khubal field subject to techno-commercial viability. ONGC is in the process of identifying a reputed fertilizer domain company for strategic partnership through EoI (Expression of Interest) process.

  • International Crude Oil Price of Indian Basket Declines on 05.9.2012 to US$ 112.14/BBL

    The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas fell on 05.9.2012 to US$ 112.14/barrel (bbl). The price was lower than US$ 113.97/bbl on 4.09.2012, the last trading day.

  • 757.09 Crore persondays generated under MGNREGA from 2009 to 2012

    The Government today informed that under MGNREGA, during 2009-10 to 2011-12, a total of 757.09 crore persondays were generated and a total amount of Rs. 76126.76 crore was paid as wages to MGNREGA workers as reported by States and Union Territories. This was stated by the Minister of State for Rural Development Shri Pradeep Jain in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha yesterday.
